hey ppl i’m doing amazin-I’ve officially lost 10 lbs my first wk with http://newtrend.tumblr.com/diets Facebook hosted article. Has anyone else used it? If not, I HIGHLY recommend!!
just as the title says.
Hooking this up to facebook just because all the cool kids are doing it.
Peeing on the kitchen floor when i was 3 because my mom made me stop eating playdoh
The tear down.
Well its started, the point of no return, now i actually have to follow through with this project. I have first started the build of my mustang by removing all the old and seeing what i can keep and what i need to replace. This has started with the rear end and will work its way forward.
Day 1 saw the rear end come out. Having never removed a rear end it was a fun learning experience with little issue, except when it came to disconnecting the E-brake line from the drum brakes. Un until now i have never looked at a drum brake from the inside or have really any idea how they work. Taking off the cover reviews a complex mess of springs and levers. While i am sure its easy to understand the concept i am glad i will be going to disc brakes in the front and rear.
Photo time:

Here she sits up on jack stands, rear end now out and on the floor.

The old tired 7.25 rear end removed.

Just another view of the work space and my mustang.

Transmission and drive shaft find their way out of the mustang and onto my garage floor as well.
And here you can see one of my main reasons for starting this long long process. The underside of the care is caked in dripping wet oil, seems either an oil seal on the motor is going bad or on the transmission. Either way no bueno and just reaffirms that the time is now to begin this build.
Thats it for now.
Welcome to my little tumblr world. Right now this page isn’t much but someday it has hopes of growing up and becoming one of those highly visited tumbls you hear about all across the interwebs. If you have made it this far you might be asking yourself what this blog will be about. Well if its anything like the last 5 blogs i tried to start it will be full of posts and excitement the first 3 days then nothing for 3 years. Now, somehow i have managed to keep your interested peaked this long and i still haven’t told you what this blog will be about. muah ha ha ha!
This is blog will document the build and restoration process on my original 1965 i6 dime-o-dozen Mustang as it transforms into a black beast.
A little about me, then a little about my car.
ME:
Im Lee. The first thing you might be curious about is my extremely VAST very limited knowledge about cars and the restorations process. This isn’t to say i know nothing of cars, i do. I change my oil regularly, check my tire pressure with that little expanding stick thingy, and i have completed an engine swap on a 93 MX3. I am a figure it out as i go kind of person. :)
My car:
This is my mustang. The first classic mustang i have ever owned. My mustang is a 1965 original California car. She came new from the factory with a little straight 6 200ci bolted to a 3 speed manual transmission. She is Wimbledon White with the original blue interior. Ford made so many of this particular model of mustang that she is nothing special to anyone but me.
The Plan:
Well whats the plan you might be asking yourself, because i know that is something i haven’t stopped asking myself since i first thought about restomodding this car. My plans have varried from a full v8 351w swap to keeping it a i6 but super charging it, to V8 swap, to keeping it all stock, to now going down a modular motor route. As you can see i cant decide, and for now that is ok. I do know one this is for certian and that is whatever i do i want MORE POWER as such the weak i6 driving gear needs to come out. This means new v8 front and rear suspension with disc brakes and running gear. I can decide on the powerplant at a later date.
Since i intened to be making more power i want the car to handle better as well. For this i will be deleting the front shock towers and opting for a mustang II style of front suspension. This will give me loads of room in the engine bay to accommodate near any powerplant i want and has the added bonus of giving the car a newer smoother updated ride.
I will detail out the plan for my car as it begins to solidify. Until then keep coming back for more, hopefully i can keep this going longer then a week :)
